“Teach me”, he said.

In the mid-1980s, within the warmth of a Jerusalem kitchen, a young couple, Orna and Isaac, pondered their future. Orna's revelation, 'I know how to string pearls,' met Isaac's eager reply, 'Teach me.' This exchange, full of love and shared aspirations, marked the beginning of their story with Yvel. Using their last savings, they embarked on a journey that started with stringing pearls and dreaming big from their modest kitchen table.

The Birth of Yvel

Their humble beginnings, with every string of pearls and golden beads, were the first threads of a tapestry that set the course for a partnership that would blossom into a world-renowned jewelry brand. As they expanded, working with a third employee on their balcony before moving to a small office in Jerusalem, Yvel's growth mirrored their aspirations. Isaac's background as an immigrant from Argentina, infused the brand with a profound promise — to provide opportunities for Jewish immigrants. This commitment shaped Yvel’s ethos. Each piece of jewelry was not only an artifact of beauty but also a symbol of a broader social mission. This vision transformed Yvel into a melting pot of cultures and stories, with each one adding a unique hue to the brand’s identity.

The Yvel Design Center

In 2010, Orna and Isaac realized a long-held dream with the opening of the Yvel Design Center in Motza. The 50,000 square foot center, surrounded by natural beauty, including lush gardens and a historic wine cellar, reflects the brand’s connection to nature and history. Visitors can immerse themselves in the Yvel story through films and exhibits, and explore the jewelry making processes and extensive showrooms where the brand's diverse collections are displayed. The Design Center offers a unique blend of art, history, and culture, making it a cornerstone of Yvel's identity.

Megemeria School of Jewelry & Art

Perhaps the most heartfelt chapter in Yvel's story is the Megemeria School of Jewelry & Art. This philanthropic initiative, deeply personal to Isaac, reflects his commitment to giving back to the community. The school offers Ethiopian immigrants a new beginning, equipping them with skills to build their futures through the art of jewelry making. Each student is supported through scholarships, and proceeds from the sales of their handcrafted jewelry are reinvested into the school, ensuring its sustainability and ongoing positive impact on the community. The Megemeria Social Enterprise is a testament to the power of art in creating social change, embodying the spirit of Tikkun Olam—repairing the world—one pearl, one life at a time.

Yvel invites you to be part of a legacy where each piece is not just an adornment but a fragment of a larger, heartfelt story – a piece of history, love, and transformation.
