In 2010, Isaac and Orna inaugurated Yvel’s new sparkling state-of-the-art Design Center located in the hills on the outskirts of Jerusalem, in the village of Motza. The 50,000 square foot facility is surrounded by lush flower gardens, sweet-smelling fruit trees and cascading waterfalls.
Upon arrival, visitors can explore many natural design elements found in the YDC gardens that serve as inspiration for Yvel jewelry designs. Fruit trees, lush gardens and rock formations are abundant and a welcome sight. A soothing water wall and water walkway will transport you into the depths of the ocean where Yvel’s extraordinary pearls originate.
As you make your way indoors you will have the pleasure
of relaxing in the Yvel Theater. There you will view
a film exploring the remarkable process of pearl formation
and the jewelry manufacturing processes at Yvel.
Proceeding on the tour, visitors arrive at the Megemeria School of Jewelry & Art established by Orna and Isaac Levy in 2010 as a philanthropic effort to better the lives of Ethiopian immigrants. Visitors are welcome to observe the students at work and have the opportunity to purchase the unique handcrafted jewelry to help support the continuation of the school.
You will be more than welcome to be a guest at the recently launched Megemeria Craft Center where you can explore the life, culture, story and journey of Ethiopian Jewry AND enjoy an authentic traditional coffee ceremony!
